I just won two tickets to the Bon Jovi concert this Sunday. I've always been a sucker for contests, and now I've finally won something!

blown out tires leads to another indoor weekend. manor house (once again, in one sitting), and the last days of the olympics. speed skating is so amazing. i <3 apolo.

I really want to go to the sasquatch festival. But it's so expensive! But sufjan stevens, the shins, beck, the decemberists, and so many others....it would be so great.

Then again....it's outdoors. It could be pouring and storming all day, and then it could really suck.

ok, so in addition to watching hours upon hours of the winter olympics i've been addicted to myspace and facebook. it sucks me in, but i just love reconnecting with people and seeing who is up to what. blame ruthie. ;o)

great weekend with katherine and my favorite special agent, mt. tabor, brie and cookies. food tastes better in the company of friends. a beautiful day, the perfect temperature, the perfect company.

another amazing evening last night. a long walk through the park.

and good news over and over. funding for berkeley!! still waiting for more letters. fingers crossed for some important schools still to come.

I can't help it.
I have to boast. But at least it's not about me, it's about my husband. :o)
Acceptance to University of Washington with full funding! (still waiting to hear from other schools). I am so happy.

I love books on tape because I can listen to them while at work. I've finished with all the David Sedaris recordings I can find (including the new Children Dancing Before a Statue of Hercules) and recently came across an old childhood favorite about the life of a little girl named Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Eprhraim's Daughter Longstocking. This I secretely listen to now. :o)

a transcript of cheney's account of the hunting accident. from the way he explains it, and the facts that i have heard, i do believe that the timeline of events that (except the shooting of the guy) took place and that the decisions made involving the incident were valid. I especially agree with the statement about the new york times not necessarily being the best news outlet for the story.

Elizabethtown is a semi-boring and very drawn out movie. It started off well enough, but then the plot, the writing, everything, just sank. Makes me want to take away Portland from the opening scene, because the movie does not deserve the 30 seconds it gives to it. Paul and I curled up with the laptop in bed after pub trivia last night and watched this movie until 1am. Probably not the smartest move on a worknight, but I really wanted to watch a movie. If you like Almost Famous you might like it though, since they have the same director (which I guessed based on characters and a strange rambling plot!).
ps. we didn't celebrate valentine's day (never have as a couple), but I did get a little valentine's heart in my lunch. :o)

Paul has figured out a way to ultimately annoy me and make me laugh at the same time. He usually resorts to his new tactic when I refuse to get out of bed in the mornings (our new down comforter is just sooooo warm and comfy, I could lay in bed for hours!). All it takes for me to get up is one word: Question [said as a statement in a dwight k. schrute voice]. Just hearing that makes me shiver in an uncomfortable way and also break out into a smile. Dwight is so ridiculous it's hilarious! Everytime I watch the office I ultimately cower in embarassment for the people, hide behind paul, and delight in laughter & giggling. The American version of the Office is *so good*. *So good* people!

I am finally happy and content about my decision not to return back on staff at ODS. It's a good decision.
Berkeley is an acceptance, but no decisions made yet, not until we hear back from all schools.
Colonial House is addicting. 8 episodes in one day.
So much more to say about how much i hate gossip and certain instances, but it is not appropriate. and much of what a certain friend says about tolerant people who are really intolerant rings so true.
ps. Ski jumping is amazing.

I just finished watching Batteries Not Included, my favorite movie from elementary school. And you know what? I still love it.

My next mission is to track down a copy of Explorers and revel in the nostalgia.

1 hour ago I sold my laptop using craigslist--now I have cash in my pocket--hurray!
20 minutes since i went to New Seasons and had some great taste-testing.
30 minutes since we walked to the library in the rain, where I retrieved my new book club book: 100 Years of Solitude.
Only a few minutes until a mozerella, organic tomato, and organic basil sandwich on yummy bread with balsamic vinegar. ohhh i can't wait.
